The 2019 Armada is Nissan’s full-size SUV, a massive vehicle that has enough passenger space to fit a big family, enough cargo space to carry their luggage, and enough towing power to bring along a serious camping trailer. The Armada is also the biggest family vehicle Nissan makes, so it comes packed with useful features, luxury options, and important safety features. However you look at it, the 2019 Nissan Armada is a perfect choice for buyers who need a full-size SUV.
The Strong Engine
Every 2019 Nissan Armada comes with a single engine choice ― a 5.6-liter V-8 engine that provides up to 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. That’s a lot of power even for a full-size SUV, and all four trims can tow up to 8,500 pounds whether you get a 2×4 or 4×4 drivetrain. For reference, that’s enough towing power to haul just about any camping trailer that doesn’t need a fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch. It also means you won’t have trouble speeding up for highway merging even if your Armada is loaded down.
The Entertainment System
The 2019 Armada is a full-size vehicle, but even for the class, it’s unusual for having a premium 13-speaker Bose audio system on every trim. Every model also gets an 8-inch touch-screen display with features like HD Radio and built-in navigation, not to mention three months of SiriusXM Radio and three years of SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link. The two Platinum trims also come with the Tri-Zone Entertainment System that adds two 8-inch monitors, a DVD player, and an HDMI hookup to the back rows.
The Interior Space
As a large SUV, the 2019 Nissan Armada comes with the kind of interior space you don’t see outside of a minivan. The Armada can comfortably seat up to eight passengers (seven if you get the optional captain’s chairs for the second row), and adults can comfortably fit into all eight positions. The Armada can also handle 16.5 cubic feet of cargo behind the third row. If you fold down the rear seats, you can get up to 95 cubic feet for cargo storage, making it a good vehicle for moving furniture and home improvement items when you aren’t vacationing.
The Safety Features
The 2019 Armada is part of the vehicle’s second generation, and this generation began with the 2017 model. This means it comes with plenty of advanced safety features, and all four trims come standard with a rearview camera, the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, and Intelligent Cruise Control. Depending on the trim, you can also get the Intelligent Around View Monitor, the Intelligent Rearview Mirror, Intelligent Back-Up Intervention, Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, and Intelligent Lane Intervention.
