Here are our five favorite restaurants in the area. more Celtic Cowboy Founded in 1890 by Robert Vaughn, a Welsh immigrant, there is genuine Celtic charm in this lovely little restaurant. Vaughn was the first settler in the county from Europe, and he had made his fortune as a rancher in Sun River Valley, just outside Great Falls. A man ahead of his times, he saw the need for an advanced livery stable in the downtown area, and so the building was originally a livery stable and freight transfer office, as well as a green-grocer and boarding house for teamsters. Vaughn was dubbed “The Celtic Cowboy” in the press and became one of the earliest philanthropists in Great Falls as well as a prominent citizen. The modern restaurant celebrates these roots by providing hearty, tasty food at what is now the Celtic Cowboy Pub and Restaurant. As lively as the time that bore it, it's a little slice of preserved history, one of the few remaining early buildings from the dawn of Great Falls. Settle in with a pint and tuck into a delicious meal. Jakers Jakers is one of those places that gets everything right. Honed from years of paying close attention to their customers, Jakers has a tailored menu that's been carefully chiseled out according to the favorite dishes and special requests of the people who eat there. There's nothing quite like soaking up a little history, and Great Falls, Montana certainly has plenty to choose from. Whether you're a military buff, art fanatic, or scholar, there's something for everyone in the area. Here are our three favorite museums in Great Falls. more Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center Between 1804 and 1806 a historic expedition was mounted by Lewis and Clark which spanned over 8,000 miles of western North America, and you can relive it all at the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center. Taking full advantage of the scenic landscape, the center was built into a picturesque bluff offering astonishing views of the Missouri River. Within the center, you will find plenty for all ages, with ranger programs and exhibits that bring life at the turn of the 20th century to life in splendid style. Your journey will begin indoors in the cozy theater, where you can watch one of the introductory films on the Lewis and Clark expedition. Following this, the trail leads outside to a ranger who will take you out to explore the wilderness surrounding the center. In addition to this, you will also find an exhibit hall offering self-guided tours of an impressive two-story diorama depicting the five great falls of the Missouri River and their ports. With a realistic replica of the currents in the Missouri, you can test your strength against the mighty river while listening to an audio tour. Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art For the more artistically inclined, Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art is an active supporter of contemporary art and local culture in and around Great Falls and North Central Montana. Located in Paris Gibson Square, the museum is one of the oldest and most beloved landmarks in Great Falls and has acted as a center of growth and learning for over a century. A majestic building hewn from sandstone in 1896, it functioned as a high school for almost 80 years before closing in 1975. Two years later it opened its doors to the community once again, this time as a historic building manned by volunteers dedicated to offering a broad range of dynamic art exhibitions, as well as educational lectures, classes, performances, and tours, which have delighted and nurtured the creative spirits of Great Falls ever since. C.M. Russell Museum Another great source of interest and learning is the C.M. Russell Museum which offers a lively schedule of classes, workshops, tours, and plenty of kids' activities. As a hub for scholars in and around Great Falls, the museum offers a variety of opportunities for education and growth all year around. It's also a great place to get your own piece of history, with a well-stocked gift shop offering home decor, jewelry, apparel, and handcrafted Native American arts and crafts from local artisans. There is so much history surrounding the Great Falls area it's hardly surprising so many excellent museums are on offer. One of Nissan's new models for 2018 is the 370Z, which has been well received by critics and fans of the brand and has been ranked highly among this year's convertibles and sports cars. It's easy to see why. The design of the new 370Z has echoes of vintage sports cars which had a considerably more style and a somewhat less polished appearance, while lacking the technological wizardry that could compensate for high-speed reckless antics. Like any new model there are improvements and benefits, so let's talk about the all-new 2018 Nissan 370Z. more Athletic Performance Without a doubt, one of the 370Z's greatest assets is its high-powered V6 engine, which performs in exactly the way you would expect from a sports car. The handling is great, with the car responding with an athletic finesse to your every command. It also offers a nice, tight little package and a compact ride that looks and feels amazing. As with most sports cars, the available cargo space is slightly limited, but this actually works in the car's favor. The smaller space helps you resist the temptation to weigh yourself down with unnecessary luggage, which might diminish an otherwise exceptionally smooth ride. A powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine comes as standard with a six-speed manual transmission, plus the option of a SynchroRev Match system. With a seven-speed automatic transmission also available, as well as a boost in horsepower available from the Nismo Tech edition, there's a lot of room for customizing your ride to your preference. Vintage Exterior Charm Another great asset of the new 370Z is its decidedly vintage charm. Traditional sports cars ran on driver skill and gumption, and the 370Z is similar, with the benefits of enough modern technology to provide a safe, efficient ride, but not so much that you lose the driving experience. It may not appeal to everyone's tastes, but the best things never do. Cars that can be universally admired are inescapably generic and often quite bland. The interior is further evidence that the design was crafted with driver needs in mind, offering an infotainment system complete with Bluetooth, as well as a navigation system, touch screen, and rearview camera available in the top-two trims. While the technology is understated, it's effective and provides a user-friendly experience without detracting from the 370Z's charm. Overall the 370Z offers the experience and excellent looks of a sports car without the need to hand over such a hefty wedge of cash. Heat and friction from your car's moving parts require lubrication, and without it, your car just can't function properly. Most drivers know all about the lifeblood of every automobile's engine — oil, but what other fluids does your car use? Don't hit the road without an occasional once-over of your car's vital fluids. Discover these five fluids you can't afford to forget in your vehicle and satisfy your car's thirst with these easy tips. more Transmission Fluid It's important to check your car's transmission fluid regularly to prevent damage to your car's powertrain. Just like oil lubricates your engine's pistons, transmission fluid lubricates your car's gears. It also provides the hydraulic pressure needed to operate your gearbox. Check your fluid monthly and replace it every 50,000 miles or as often as noted in your owner's manual. Transmission fluid works within a closed system and should never "run out."  If you notice a depletion in your transmission fluid levels, get your car to the dealer's service center right away. Brake Fluid No one needs to explain the importance of fast braking, therefore checking your brake fluid should be a top priority. Similar to the way your transmission uses hydraulic pressure to shift gears, your brakes use fluid to apply pressure to your brake's calipers. Also like transmission fluid, brakes operate in a closed system and should never be low on fluid. Check your brake fluid levels every time you check your engine oil, or about once a month, and anytime you notice a change in the way your brake pedal feels. Radiator Coolant With the help of your radiator, coolant or antifreeze helps protect your car from overheating, either by engine heat or high ambient temperatures. Coolant also acts as an "antifreeze" to prevent your engine block from freezing during the winter. Check your coolant levels every six months, in the spring and fall before significant seasonal temperature changes. Flush your radiator and completely replace coolant every two years, or as directed by your service technician. Power Steering Fluid Power steering fluid was a phenomenal invention in 1951 that revolutionized the automotive industry. On today's modern vehicle, without power steering fluid, it would be nearly impossible to control your car. Don't risk a collision; check your car's power steering fluid once a month or more often if you hear squeaking noises or the steering wheel is difficult to move when you make a turn. Windshield Washer Fluid While windshield washer fluid might seem trivial compared to obvious essentials like brake fluid, it's a crucial part of your car's safety components. Rain and even mist can attract dirt which sticks to your glass and limits visibility. Without washer fluid to clear away the grime, you could be in a situation where you're driving blind. This handy fluid checklist will make sure you're keeping up with your car's maintenance needs, and if any of these essential systems were to dry-up, repair costs could get pretty high. The crowd-pleasing Nissan Z-Car has traveled a long and winding road, thrilling driving enthusiasts for more than 45 years. Recognized for its distinct styling, the legendary Z has a long reputation for power and performance at a competitive price. Let's take a drive down memory lane and explore a brief evolution of this iconic car. more Datsun 240Z, 1970-1973 Nissan invested three years of trials before they launched the first Z in the U.S. The 240Z was a modern coupe with a long nose and fastback rear hatch reminiscent of the Jaguar E, with seating for two and a 2.4-liter 6-cylinder engine that produced 151 horsepower. The 370Z Z34, 2009-Present Slightly smaller than its predecessors, the sixth-generation Z offers its most powerful engine — a 3.7-liter 6-cylinder that put down 350 horses. Dramatic changes like aluminum body panels boosted the 370Z's quickness and gave the BMW 135i a run for its money in the sports car class.
